Graduates

The Jayne A Coleman Academy of Dance is proud that so many of its former pupils have gone on to pursue professional performing arts careers.  Each and every one of them has enjoyed incredible success in the varying stages of their careers, and we aim to continue to produce such talented, well-rounded performers.

 

Megan O’Connor

Megan was offered the Rob Knox full scholarship place at D&B College of performing Arts and is currently in her final year of a three year diploma in Musical Theatre.   Since joining the college, Megan has already gained performance experience having danced in Comic Relief, with JLS and had several filming jobs for both television and movies.

Debbie Paul

Debbie started training at JACAD aged 4 and graduated in 2005! She furthered her training doing a one year course at the Tiffany Theatre College. At 17, her first professional job was onboard P&O Arcadia for Jean Ann Ryan Productions Ltd. as a singer/dancer. Other credits include smash hit Top Hat the musical in the West End with which she performed at the Olivier awards and on the Alan Titchmarsh Show, (ITV1), 42nd Street UK tour – covered and played Anytime Annie.  White Christmas UK tour- playing the part of Rhoda , Elf the Musical UK tour – covering Emily Hobbs, Tap dancer at the John Wilson BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, 42nd Street charity gala at the London Palladium, Ocean Village Cruises, Spirit of the Dance and lead vocalist in Spirit of Broadway in the USA, Tap Dance Fever Canada, UK tour & original cast and Lead female vocalist onboard P&O Oceana.

Carly Meyers

Carly received a full scholarship to train at Laine Theatre Arts at the age of 16. After 3 years of training, she left the UK to perform in Reno in Dancing Queen, an ABBA inspired show. Recent credits include the original cast of The Wizard of Oz in London’s West End, ensemble and understudy Elpheba in Wicked, (original cast, Oberhausen, Germany), and ensemble and understudy Meat in We Will Rock You, (original cast, Stuttgart, Germany). Carly was also part of the original ensemble cast of the smash hit Top Hat – The Musical both on the UK Tour and in the West End. Rebecca Hodge

Rebecca left JACAD to train for 3 years with a full scholarship at London Studios Centre. After completing her degree Rebecca graduated with a 1st class honours and was also awarded the Gillian Lynne Trophy.   Rebecca performed in various shows and pantomimes in the UK before making her West End debut as ensemble/understudy Rizzo in Grease  -The Musical. Rebecca then performed in Mamma Mia! – The Musical, Ensemble/Second cover Lisa in London’s West End.   Rebecca has performed the role of Baby in Dirty Dancing – The Musical for the UK Tour and in the West End. Most recently, Rebecca is performing in the ensemble of the smash hit musical Top Hat on the UK Tour. Emily Newton

Emily left JACAD with scholarships at several colleges offering full time training programmes.  She decided that JACAD had sufficiently prepared her not to need 3 years further training, so she opted for a 1 year course at Tiffany Theatre College on a full scholarship. She graduated in 2007 and since then has worked consistently for Royal Caribbean International, including two contracts as Dance Captain. She has also performed at Wembley Stadium at the UEFA Champions League Final. Emily has just returned from a world cruise on the Radiance of the Seas and has recently begun training in aerial arts.

Stephanie Billers

Stephanie successfully auditioned for the Royal Ballet Associates programme at a young age, and continued this alongside her training at JACAD. She received a full scholarship to Laine Theatre Arts at the age of 16 and during her time there was privileged to be chosen to perform with Take That and Cliff Richard on The Royal Variety Performance 2008 at The London Palladium. Since graduating in 2010, she has travelled the world as a dancer, singer and aerialist on the Regent Seven Seas Voyager, (Jean Ann Ryan Productions), toured arenas in Germany with Best of Musicals Gala, (Stage Entertainment), and danced alongside Annie Lennox, One Direction, Madness, The Pet Shop Boys and Darcey Bussell for the London Olympics Closing Ceremony 2012, under the direction of Kim Gavin. She then enjoyed finishing 2012 dancing in the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, which she will be returning to later this year.

Stephanie’s career highlight so far was performing a dream job of hers – Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, (UK and International tour 2013/14). She was overwhelmed to be asked to perform the principle role of The Queen whilst touring internationally with the show.

Other credits include: TV commercial for Honda, (Beautiful Precision, Supple Nam); Music Video, (Rose Betts – I Can Never Give My Heart); Music Video, (Kev Skrilla – I Once); An Evening of Laughter with Ken Dodd & Friends, (The London Palladium); Dancer/Model for Pop Up Fashion Shows, (Arthur Gourounlian).

Alison Barlow

Alison received a full scholarship at Tiffany Theatre College and graduated in 2010. She performed at the Christmas Spectacular in Thursford before joining Royal Caribbean International as a dancer on the Navigator of the Seas. She is currently completing a contract on the Brilliance of the Seas in the Caribbean.

Grace Newton

Grace was offered a full scholarship for full time training, but decided to remain at J.A.C.A.D. for an additional year to complete her training in-house. She has had successful dance auditions for Disneyland Paris, Octopus Entertainment and Carnival Cruises, and has just returned from an 8 month contract as a singer/dancer for Warner Productions in the UK.

Sian Brown

Sian left JACAD with a full scholarship at the Tiffany Theatre College and she completed her training in 2012. She has already had several successful auditions, including for Disneyland Tokyo. She performed at several corporate events over Christmas 2012 and will be dancing for TSE Productions Ltd on the Silja Serenade in 2013.

Daisy Mai

Daisy danced with Jayne from the age of 13; she received a full scholarship to study at Tiffany Theatre College on a one year advanced course, graduating in 2010.  Her credits include – Assistant Choreographer for the Redken hair show, Soloist Dancer at the Royal Albert Hall for Christmas with the Stars, Dancer for the Cartoon Network, City Sessions film lyrical dancer, Volleyball Model Olympics 2012, Nike Model, Derren Brown Ident Dancer, Dancer onboard Cunard ship Queen Victoria. Daisy is currently in the new line up for the Tiller Girls appearing on the John Bishop Show for the last two years and is going on to start an eight-part TV series on BBC 1 this year.

Ella Nonini

Ella successfully auditioned for Laine Theatre Arts, and received a full scholarship to complete the three year Dance and Musical Theatre Diploma. She was also one of the few selected to audition for the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation Scholarship. Ella has played the role of Julia in The Wedding Singer as well as performing in Our House and The Lark, (Studio Theatre, Epsom). In 2013, Ella was Dance Captain and understudied both Tink and Wendy in Peter Pan, (Dartford), as well as dancing and singing in both Snow White and The Wizard of Oz, (Aldershot), and Peter Pan, (Swansea).  Ella has also danced with JACAD World Champions at the Dance Proms 2012, (Royal Albert Hall). As part of Laine Theatre Arts, Ella has enjoyed being a  featured dancer in Flying in at 40! and A Stair(E) at a Time, (Epsom Playhouse). Ella successfully auditioned for Mamma Mia! – The Musical at the Novello Theatre in the West End; she is currently singing and dancing in their award-winning ensemble.

Molly Aldridge

Molly successfully auditioned for eight dance colleges and is currently attending Laine Theatre Arts. She received a full scholarship to complete the three year Dance and Musical Theatre Diploma.

Bryony Wicks

Bryony has recently completed her studies at Bird College on the three year Dance and Theatre Performance course where she was awarded a 2:1 Degree. Whilst at college she has had several performance opportunities including the Bird Summer Showcase, TV, Dance Projects, 3rd Year Musical, Move it! and Agent Showcases. Bryony was also given the chance to go to Sweden and study with students at a dance school in Stockholm which she a valuable experience.

Lianne Shoolbread

Lianne successfully auditioned for a full time dance degree at London Studio Centre and is currently completing her training.

Brontë Lavine

Brontë has recently completed her third year of training at Laine Theatre Arts and has been offered a 7 month contract with Jean Ann Ryan Productions Ltd, starting in October 2015.

Emma Kemp

Emma successfully completed a one year pre-vocational foundation course at Bird College of Dance. She was then selected to stay at Bird for a B.A. Hons. in Dance and Theatre Performance and has recently successfully been awarded a 2:1 Degree.

Charlotte Tait

Charlotte successfully auditioned for Laine Theatre Arts and was offered a place on the three year Dance and Musical Theatre Diploma.

Natalie Brazier

Natalie received a full scholarship for 3 years training at London Studio Centre. She joined the LSC Jazz Company and graduated in 2007. Since then she has done various performances including contracts with P&O Cruises.

Hannah Lawton

Hannah received a 50% scholarship for Tiffany Theatre College. Since then she has enjoyed great success in the commercial industry and in music videos, working for MTV, Virgin, Paul Mitchell, and performances such as the Royal Variety Performance and So You Think You Can Dance with Alexandra Burke. Recent credits include the 2012 Olympic Ceremonies in London and performances at the Royal Opera House. Hannah is also a trampolining coach for Team GB.

Zoe Jobson

Zoe received a full scholarship at Tiffany Theatre College and graduated in 2010. She performed in the pantomime Sleeping Beauty before leaving for Tokyo where she worked at Tokyo Disney as a face character and dancer.

Sarah Mayley

Sarah left J.A.C.A.D. having trained with us from a young age and went on to study acting and performance at Bird College.

Lauren was accepted at various vocational schools after leaving JACAD and completed a three year course in performance at Bird College.

Ben has become one of our most successful male pupils. He left JACAD to study at Arts Educational and is currently completing his training.
